Black Friday, we're closed

We don't do Black Friday. We do Green Friday.

We decided we’re not joining the Black Friday madness. Even more so, our online shop is closed this November 27. Why? "Ever since we did Black Friday last year, I've been thinking about what to do with it in 2020. Joining just didn’t feel good. It doesn’t fit our philosophy. Yes, we wanna earn money. I think it’s BS to think ‘good businesses’ shouldn’t make ‘good money’. We should! But hey, this madness has just gone too far. It’s stimulating a hype of overconsumption on such a big scale. Buying things we don’t need just because we’re being impulsive, we’re in shopping mode, and we’re out for bargains." says Geertje - founder Greenbeauty Market. "I'd rather inspire people to think about their purchases consciously, to shop what they need, in a store deserving of their support."

About Green Friday

So. No Black Friday for us. And don't worry, we're only closed for a day, and we'll be opening our online doors again Saturday Nov 28. In the meanwhile, we'll be supporting our planet instead of tearing it down. We do so by joining the Green Friday movement - an initiative by Dille & Kamille - as we'll be making a donation to Trees for All, enabling them to plant an additional 100 trees.

About Trees for All

Trees are the solution for climate change. Trees for All plants trees in the Netherlands and abroad and offsets carbon emissions. Their mission is to plant new forests worldwide and to restore existing forests. They achieve this by supporting sustainable forest projects. In this way they contribute to a better climate, more biodiversity and better living conditions for local people. Cool fact: if every world citizen were to plant two trees a year, not only would we halt the annual net loss of trees, but the process would be reversed. Let's make a change, and make the earth a better place.
